That's Me!Welcome to my blog - here you will find my latest works and other exciting news.

Growing up, we are told to "Do What We Love." Nothing could be more true for me...

I make portraits exclusively on location & I believe that portraits are about the very real moments of messiness and day-to-day whimsy that touch our hearts. I am so grateful that I get to share my artistic vision and be entrusted with once in a lifetime memories & I cherish each and every little moment of that unique celebration as if it were my own, which is why I focus on the emotional, candid, and personal aspects of the day. The thing I love most about being a photographer? - Meeting people and discovering the little things that make them extraordinary.

Landry

Hard to believe that little miss Landry is already 3 months, seems like just yesterday she was at the Studio getting her newborn portraits taken. Here are some of my favorites...

Jen getting some help with her shoes by her son - she had no idea he was going to do this! Crawled right under her dress :)

Winter Trash the Dress

What can I say about this session.... perhaps one of my favorites? Yep.. that about sums it up! :) These girls were a total blast to work with, I think we laughed the entire time. From sledding to snowball fights, to an interesting attempt at ice skating - here are a few of my favorites from the shoot...

This was the attempt at ice skating... literally crawling to the pond to get a shot... neither of the girls could stand up on their skates, it was hilarious!

Baby Madalynn

I can't believe how big she is getting! Seems like just yesterday I was photographing baby Maddie's newborn session. This time around, she was bright eyed and ready for her picture day {her newborn session was about 90% tears}. Looking just like her momma - here is the little princess...

Steph & Ted E-Session

I've known Steph since we were in diapers - and we have been the best of friends since... I'm so excited for her to be getting married to such a great guy! The entire session we all laughed and joked around, it was a great time. {even when the dog peed in the truck, and when steph was having issues walking the snow - she's accient prone!} Here are a few of my favorites from the day...

I'm a Slacker

So - I just realized today that I haven't posted a blog in damn near a month. It's been a crazy start to the new year... changes, exciting news, etc. Now, since I'm lacking this thing they call sleep - I'm going to deliver all the juicy gossip to you in a bite sized post.

1. Bridal Show at the Dubuqe Fairgrounds was by far the best show I've presented my work at. Met tons of brides, great fashion show, and an overall fantastic turnout. I suggest to all of you bride-to-be's and vendors out there to participate next year... just don't forget to stop by and see me :)

2. I took 5th place out of 3,100 entries in the 2009 WPD Creative Wedding Photo Contest. Physched? You bet your sweet ass I am.

3. I've gone global. Stacy, mother of the adorable Quintin writes - "Here is “THE PHOTO” of Quintin you took, on display at the baby/mommy convention in DUBAI for FORE!! Axel & Hudson. HOW COOL IS THAT….your photo and my son went GLOBAL!!!!!!!" Check out Axel & Hudson's spiffy golf-inspired clothing line at : http://www.foreaxelandhudson.com/

4. I had the honor of photographing the River Ridge Homecoming Dance and was asked by a nice young man to dance. I happily obliged.

5. I am no longer at the studio in downtown Galena, as I am considering a slight move - no worries though... nothing will change for you. Just wanted to throw that out there. I am now working from my lovely home. See, it's lovely - isn't it? I have already done several meetings in my home office and it just makes more sense.
